MS guard unit returns from Afghanistan mission

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) – The Mississippi National Guard's 220th Financial Management Detachment returned to Jackson after completing a one year mission in Afghanistan. 

Family and friends welcomed home the thirty-member unit Thursday morning at the Hinds County Extension Service building in south Jackson. 

While overseas, the unit provided pay and financial support for more than 69,000 deployed personnel.  

As the 220th returns home, 350 of their fellow Mississippi national guardsmen continue to serve in Afghanistan.
