JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Hundreds flood the Mississippi Trade Mart for the Homebuilders Association's 36th annual Home and Outdoor Living Extravaganza.

"You can do everything under one roof inside or outside the home," said Homebuilder Association Executive Vice President Marty Milstead.

There were hot tubs for outside and hot grills for inside.  There were items for bath, bed and living rooms plus much more.  More than 200 vendors were selling just about everything.

"We like to come show the new products, meet people, show them what's new, tell them we appreciate them, and we appreciate their business," said Owner of Callaway's Home and Garden David Callaway.

For the most part the money stays in Mississippi.  The majority of the attending businesses were based in the magnolia state.

"What's unique about Copper Sculptures is most of our products are completely hand crafted. It is Mississippi artisans, made in Mississippi," said Kimberly Mistal.

The large crowds suggest more people are spending money on their homes.  The price of travel is increasing as the cost of gas continues to rise.

"A lot of people in the show today are looking at remodeling.  It's not just new construction. They're looking at changing that bathroom, bedroom or whatever in the house.  So they realize they put that money in the house and it's a great investment," said Milstead.

The Home and Outdoor Extravaganza continued Sunday from 12:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.  Tickets are $7 a person.
