JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - The manhunt continues for two Louisiana fugitives accused of kidnapping a man in Vicksburg and leaving his body in an Alabama hotel.

Authorities say the escapees, 33-year-old Darian "Drake" Pierce of Bogalusa, Louisiana and 36- year-old Ricky Wedgeworth of Memphis are responsible for the beating death of David Michael Cupps.

The 53-year-old Sunbury, Ohio man's body was found Wednesday at a hotel in Bessemer, Alabama.

Investigators say Cupps was carjacked by the two men while he was working in Vicksburg. Pierce and Wedgeworth were pulled over in Cupps' rental car in west Tennessee, but managed to escape.
