Jackson Police Investigate Apparent Road Rage Shooting - MSNewsNow.com - Jackson, MS
JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Jackson Police arrested one man, and another was fighting for his life Wednesday night.
Authorities say the motive in this shooting appears to be road rage.
Just before 6 PM, 30 year old Larry Johnson Jr. was found lying beside a dumpster at the Arbor Park Apartments at 5551 Shaw street.
Johnson was shot in the back and side. He was listed in critical condition at UMC late Wednesday night.
According to investigators, 28 year old Willie Benard was arrested while trying to flee the scene. He was caught at Highway 80 and Shaw Road.
Benard is charged with aggravated assault.
JPD says one man was coming out of the complex as the other was going in. They got into an argument before getting out of their vehicles and Benard opened fire.
