JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Friday morning a crowd lined up outside of the Trademart as people anxiously awaited to get inside for the garden and patio show. And once folks finally made it in, they were surrounded by everything imaginable for their gardens and patios.
Chairman for the show, Ray Bailey says, "we have garden art, we have herbs, we have vegetables, we have trees, we have landscape architects down here, we have horticulturist."
Stephany Brown and her grand kids had their hands full as they explored the show. Brown says the event is something she never misses. "Oh, I love to come here I come here every year I never miss it I come early because I don't want all the plants to be picked over I want to have the first pick."
This year guests can meet and greet and purchase garden supplies from experts representing 75 different companies. And if there's something you really want you need to make it here early.
Michael Seal from "Funny Farms," says, "a lot of these things are one of a kind especially in our booth. They know to come on because one of a kind things disappear on the first day."
With over 70 vendors here at the garden and patio show there's lots to choose from. Customers say one of the things they really enjoy about coming to the show is the fact that they can find lots of flowers and plants that they can't find anywhere else in our area.
"Last year I got some worm manure stuff and that worked well and I'm not going to find that everywhere," says Brown.
In addition to the variety of items that can be bought a number of experts are holding seminars to teach you everything you need to know about gardening.
If you're interested in attending the show it runs Saturday from 10am until 5pm and then Sunday from 10am until 4 p.m..
