PORT GIBSON, MS (WLBT) - A two-week long investigation by the Mississippi Department of Investigations has led to more charges against a Port Gibson man.
On March 18, MBI investigators charged 40-year-old Dexter Watson with murder in the death of Patricia Dotson.
Dotson's body was found on March 6 behind the First Baptist Church of Port Gibson with a stab wound to the upper torso.
With help from the Mississippi State Crime Lab, investigators were able to match blood found on Watson's clothes to that of Dotson's.
The investigation is ongoing and findings will be turned over to the Claiborne County D.A.'s office once MBI has finished. Then it will be determined if there is enough evidence to prosecute the case.
