A public meeting will be held Sunday to discuss a proposed new development in Jackson. According to Leland Speed, Executive Director of the Mississippi Development Authority, there is a proposal for the state to borrow $50 million to build a new Tax Commission building.
It would be built near a residential community on Lakeland Drive and Ridgewood Road. Speed called the proposal a huge waste of tax payer dollars. A meeting is being held at the River Hills Country Club to discuss the matter. The public is encouraged to attend.
