GULFPORT, Miss. (AP) - A 71-year-old Gulfport woman died when the SUV she was traveling in flipped several times and she was ejected.
According to Harrison County Coroner Gary Hargrove, Josephine Aquino was pronounced dead at the emergency room of Memorial Hospital. Two others in the vehicle were injured.
The accident occurred Saturday afternoon on Interstate 10, just east of U.S. Highway 49.
Hargrove says Renee Hopper of Gulfport was switch lanes when she lost control of her SUV, hit the center dividing wall and flipped several times.
The coroner says Aquino wasn't wearing a seat belt. He says the cause of death was blunt force injuries to the head, chest and extremities.
