Fatal shooting in West Jackson

Jackson police are on the lookout for the suspect who shot and killed a man on Sunday. The shooting happened at 3150 Robinson Road.

Officer Colendula Green says 28 year-old Derrick Jemall Hicks was shot outside of the Westwood apartment complex around 1:30 PM Sunday afternoon.

Officer Green says before Hicks was shot in the leg, Hicks and the shooter had an altercation.

Hicks later died from the bullet wound which struck a major artery. Police say they don't have a suspect in custody yet.
