HINDS COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Hinds County Sheriff Malcolm McMillin has suspended four more jailers following accusations of inmate abuse at the Detention Center in Raymond.

Just last week, WLBT showed disturbing photos of a man allegedly beaten while in handcuffs.

A spokesman for the Sheriff said the jailers are suspended without pay, bringing the number disciplined over misconduct with inmates to 13 at the Raymond Detention Center.

Lt. Jeffery Scott said this latest disciplinary actions come on the heels of a family member bringing forward photos to WLBT News.

The pictures show inmate Charles Johnson in a hospital room.

Johnson had been beaten at the jail after surrendering on charges of murder and armed carjacking.

An internal affairs investigation is underway and the FBI is involved.
