RAYMOND, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

The Hinds County Sheriff's Department confirms that 83-year-old Carroll McCall was found dead Wednesday morning in a lake next to Riggs Manor in Raymond.

Hinds County Sheriff's Department Lt. Jeffery Scott says,"Our first responders were somewhat disturbed by what they found this morning."

Early Wednesday morning, Raymond firefighters discovered McCall's body.

McCall, who was a Riggs Manor resident, was last seen inside of Riggs Manor on Tuesday night. The search for McCall began when he didn't show up for breakfast Wednesday morning.

Lt. Scott says, "He was inside of the facility last night, again at approximately 8:00 and it's not known what time, we haven't been able to determine what time he went missing."

When the fire department found McCall, his body was about six feet away from the edge of  the lake. His body was not submerged in the water and firefighters had to enter into the lake to pull his body out.

McCall had lived at Riggs Manor for several years. And officials from the center say they have lots of questions surrounding his death. An autopsy to determine how McCall died is expected to be complete later this week.

Steve McAlilly, the CEO of Methodist Senior Services says, "We don't have any evidence of foul play, Mr. McCall didn't have any propensity to disappear and leave and we don't know at this point what happened and why he decided to go outside."

Officials from the senior assisted facility have called chaplains in to help everyone cope with McCall's death.

McAlilly says, "Our residents are like family to us and the staff become family members and its like they've lost a family member too."
