People living at the Chalet Village Apartments at 530 Hiawatha Street in Jackson have a serious problem on their hands. For the past few weeks, they've had no running water.
Complaints to management have gotten them nowhere, even though they say their water payment is included in their rent payment, which runs about $350.00 per month.
Residents have been borrowing pails of water from other places, and simply getting by.
The apartment complex is quite a sight; one of the two buildings is completely boarded up. In the other building, some apartments are occupied while others are vacant with broken windows.
No one answered our knocks at the door of the management office. One resident tells us that the manager was fired. They're paying their rent at a different location.
