Fatal accident in Terry - MSNewsNow.com - Jackson, MS
Dozens of emergency crews were called to a deadly head on collision at the intersection of Terry Road and Springridge Road just before seven Thursday morning.
Hinds County Sheriff's Department spokesman, Lieutenant Jeffery Scott says the driver of a white Mazda headed north on Terry Road collided with a white Chevy traveling south on Terry Road.
Sixty-three year-old Carrie Durphy, the driver of the Chevy was pronounced dead at the scene. The man driving the Mazda was extracted from his pick-up with the jaws of life. He was then taken to Central Mississippi Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. Police are still trying to figure out why the two vehicles collided.
Lt. Scott says, "the accident is in the process of being re-constructed we are also in the process of interviewing witnesses who may have witnessed the accident."
Emergency crews were at the scene of that wreck nearly two hours Thursday morning.
