Three-vehicle wreck stops I-55 southbound traffic

Posted: Updated:
JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A three-vehicle wreck Thursday afternoon brought traffic to a halt along I-55 southbound, just south of the Savanna Street exit.

Jackson Police say around 1:45 p.m., a pickup truck hit the back of a Lexus with Arkansas tags. The Lexus then spun into the lane of a Swift Transportation 18-wheeler with Indiana plates.

The male driver of the Lexus was transported to a hospital with minor injuries. The female passenger of the pickup was limping. The female driver of the pickup says she looked up and saw traffic slowing for road construction, but it was too late.

One lane of traffic was opened a short time after the wreck.
