Today is the day to get rid of all of your old electronics in an environmentally friendly and inexpensive way. The "Advantage E-Cycle" truck is filling up quickly outside of the Mississippi Farmers Market.
That's where the public is invited to drop off old electronics like, TV's, computers and printers for Business E-Waste Day. Now, TV's will cost $10 to recycle and a computer monitor will cost one buck. But, all other electronics can be recycled free of charge. When you bring your electronics down to be E-Cycled they don't end up in a landfill.
Steve Earley, the co-owner of "Advantage E-Cycling," says "electronics contain hazardous material such as lead, cadmium, mercury, and what we're trying to avoid is getting that into the landfills, once that gets down into the earths soil it stays there and it contaminates the soil which a big problem in the future."
E-Waste Day goes on until 2:00pm. Again, the "Advantage E-Cycling" truck is located at the Mississippi Farmers Market.
