FRANKLIN, Tenn. (AP) - Nissan Americas is closing five North American plants for several days this month because of supply disruptions stemming from the earthquake in Japan.
The car maker says it had planned to idle production at these plants later in the year, but decided to shut them earlier than scheduled because of the expected disruptions.
The closures affect plants in Smyrna, Tenn., and Canton, Miss., among others.
