Former WLBT broadcaster Jobie Martin was laid to rest Saturday, one week after an accident on I-220 claimed his life at 91-years old.
Family, friends and dignitaries from all over the state attended Saturday's memorial service for Mr. Martin who was described as a legend and an innovator.
He hosted a variety show on WLBT in the mid 70's and was also a radio announcer in Jackson.
Martin also served as an instructor at Chastain Middle School.
Jackson Mayor Harvey Johnson called Martin's death a major blow to the capital city.
