Teen with long criminal history captured

After days of searching, Hinds County Sheriff's Deputies and Utica Police have captured a young criminal with a long list of charges.

Eight teen year-old Derrick Richardson was captured Saturday evening near the intersection of Main Street and East Street in Utica.

Authorities were hot on his trail following a home invasion Saturday morning in the small town.

Hinds County Sheriff Chief Deputy Steve Pickett says Richardson is facing charges for a Utica home invasion as well as house burglaries in Jackson and in Hinds County.

He is being held at the Hinds County Detention Center awaiting an initial appearance before a judge next week.
