This week's Wednesday's Child is medically fragile, but you could never convince her. 3 year old Patriaunna has spent the majority of her life in a hospital. The hope now is to find a loyal, patient and very special forever family.

Patriaunna usually loves to look at pictures in books or be read too. Once she saw the bright colors on this rug and the toys at the Eudora Welty Library in Jackson, she quickly decided it was time to have some fun.

Patriaunna wears glasses and is non ambulatory. In addition to being fascinated with bright colored toys she is also thrilled with any toy that has lights or music. Patriaunna has a twin. She enjoys being held and hugged. She also likes getting her hair done and wearing pretty clothes.

Patriaunna is shy at times but enjoys taking pictures. When she is not playing with her toys or using her baseball arm, Patriaunna enjoys going for rides in her stroller. She becomes very anxious with loud noises but does appear to like being around other children.

Patriaunna is developmentally delayed and requires physical and occupational speech therapy several days a week. She is a happy child who needs a loving, caring and stable home. She will require long term care throughout her life.

If you are interested in learning more about adoption through the Department of Human Services, call the Mississippi Adoption Resource Exchange at 1-800-821-9157.
