JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Artists of the future displayed their dazzling work Sunday at the Mississippi Arts Center.  For the third year in a row, the Power Academic and Performing Arts Complex or APAC annual art exhibit kicked off.

It featured work by Jackson Public School's student artists in fourth through twelfth grades.  An opening reception and awards ceremony was held Sunday afternoon to acknowledge the interesting sculptures, colorful paintings and creative photography.

"We want to honor and recognize the student's work and all of their achievement.  (We want to) put this work in front of the public, the citizens, the tax payers of Jackson and Hinds County.  This is their work we're doing to educate and teach the arts," said JPS Visual Arts Instructor Frank Neal.

The exhibit is free.  You can view the student art from now until April 30th in the atrium gallery at the Mississippi Arts Center.
