Husband & wife arrested for lawn care fraud

RANKIN COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

An investigation by the Mississippi Auditor's Office lands a husband and wife team behind bars on charges involving a lawn care contract with the Rankin County School District.

Dolister and Malcolm Sanders are the owners of Sanders Lawn Service.

The couple is charged with making fraudulent statements and representations, conspiracy to defraud, tampering with physical evidence and wire fraud.

The investigation uncovered invoices for more than $80,000 worth of pine straw that was not provided to the school district.

Sanders lawn service has been in contract with Rankin County since July 2005.

More arrests are expected.
