The Duling Hall Auditorium in Fondren is expected to be jam-packed with music lovers Thursday night. The public is invited to come out to "Nashville Songwriters Night." The event is an opportunity for the community to meet and learn from three featured Nashville songwriters. One of those songwriters is Clinton native Don Poythress.
Now, in addition to hearing from the musicians, the songwriters will also collect donations for C.A.R.A . After seeing our very own Marsha Thompson's story about Francis, a puppy who was abused and abandoned, the songwriters decided they wanted to help C.A.R.A out.
Kim Middleton, a CARA volunteer and physical therapist says, "it really is a big honor that they would take time out of their show tonight to acknowledge C.A.R.A and Francis and just kind of bring light to the whole animal cruelty issue."
For more information on Thursday's event, you can contact the show's producer Dan Grimmett at 601-668-9640. And if you can, organizers are asking you to bring dog food for C.A.R.A.
