New boys coach at Clinton High

CLINTON, Miss. (AP) - Clay Norton has been named head boys basketball coach at Clinton High School.

He replaces coach Bruce Robinson, who will remain at Clinton as a teacher.

Norton's hiring was announced Tuesday.

Norton is currently a math teacher at CHS and was the head boys' basketball coach at Sumner Hill Junior High School from 2008 to 2010.

Before coming to Clinton, Norton taught math and was the head boys' basketball coach at Forest Hill High School in Jackson, compiling a record of 117-64 in six seasons. He guided Forest Hill to the Class 5A state championship game in 2007.

Norton was coach of the South Mississippi All-Star Team in 2008.
