Ridgeland's KidFest draws large crowds

Posted: Updated:

Several thousand people flocked to Ridgeland for a festival designed with kids in mind.  KidsFest wrapped up Saturday evening at Freedom Ridge Park.  The event spanned two weekends.

Families were able enjoy pony rides, circus entertainment, fair food and even feed a large grizzly bear.  A big crowd pleaser is the Fearless Flores Family and their death defying stunts in the globe of death.  The city of Ridgeland hosted the family friendly event for the last nine years.

"This is about sharing experiences.  This is like the things parents and kids do together. Even the nylon zoo over here where parents and kids dress up, the backyard circus where they're all part of the circus, all those kinds of things. That's the idea behind it," said Ridgeland Parks and Recreational Director Chris Chance.
