This Easter Sunday families enjoyed the sunshine and warm temperatures outside.
At J.C. Park off Wood Street children were treated to an Easter egg hunt.
Eight hundred brightly colored eggs were hidden throughout the park. Kids also enjoyed a space jump and a basketball tournament. Event organizers are proud that an area of Jackson once plagued by crime and gang violence is now a safe place to celebrate the holiday.
"We want to continue to promote a family fair like event like this and we want to keep this going every year and its all about the kids. Its about showing them the true meaning of Easter, about Jesus bringing love into the world," said Reverend John Taylor Jr., event organizer.
