SIMPSON COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Six people were sent to the hospital following a two vehicle wreck in Simpson County Friday evening. This happened around 5:20 on merit road, off Highway 43 south-west of Mendenhall.

Simpson County Sheriff's Deputies said the accident was under investigation and would not speculate what caused the wreck on the narrow two lane road.

A Pontiac G-6, carrying five people, was down an embankment after colliding with a Buick Rendezvous with one person inside.

All six people were taken to UMMC. Authorities say they did not suffer life-threatening injuries.
