Youtube video claims JPD cruiser hits motorcyclist

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Three videos posted on show what appears to be a police cruiser apparently running down a motorcyclist.

The video shows a vehicle with lights flashing striking the motorcycle before slamming into a fence.  Two people step out of the car and walk around.  Another angle shows the vehicle eventually drive off followed by another car with law-enforcement markings.

A caption on the post claims it happened Tuesday 9:03 p.m. at the old Lamar Outdoor building on West Street in Jackson.  A WLBT crew went to the location and confirmed it did match the YouTube Video.  There were the two surveillance cameras visible on the property.

Jackson Police Chief Lee Vance said the video was too dark and grainy making it difficult to identify if is was a JPD cruiser or any law-enforcement vehicle.  According to Vance, no one has reported anyone being injured or of a police cruiser involved in an accident.

Vance gave a statement,"We take reports of officer misconduct very seriously.  If anyone does come forward about this alleged incident we will certainly investigate it."
