The Salvation Army isn't slowing down its efforts to help tornado victims.
Teams from the Salvation Army of Greater Jackson are in the tornado ravaged towns of Oxford and Smithville, Mississippi providing meals and basic necessities to people in need. A group is also in Tuscaloosa, Alabama helping with clean-up efforts there.
Now in addition to helping storm victims, the Salvation Army is also preparing to help people in Vicksburg who could potentially experience some major flooding as early as next week.
Captain Ken Chapman, the area coordinator for the Salvation Army of Greater Jackson says, "The advisory board and women's auxiliary over in Vicksburg who help with the Salvation Army are helping us find an empty storefront that we can turn into a shelter and we will get a food supply, we'll make sure that's taken care of, cots and basic things that people need."
