9/11 victim's family reacts to Bin Laden's death

Relatives of 9/11 attacks are reacting to Osama Bin Laden's death.

Carolyn Hicks' started her Monday morning saluting the flag in front of her home.

It was given to her by U.S. Army troops after they flew it over their Afghanistan base, honoring her son, and fellow troop Lt. Col. Jerry Dickerson.

Dickerson was killed while working in the Pentagon on 9/11.

"He was military 100 percent," Hicks said. 

The colors of the U.S. flag are themed around the Hicks home.

A flag honoring all the victims of the 9/11 attacks covers her kitchen table.

Her son's military awards and photo's enshrine another room, the recent news of Bin Laden's death, unexpected.

"I was surprised and very pleased I don't know that I can say it gave me a sense of relief because he's got me under him, I'm glad though," Hicks said.

Carolyn Hicks has attended ceremonies honoring 9/11 victims across Mississippi, and several in Washington, D.C. including one at the Pentagon.

Her son's memory forever in her heart. 

She's coped with her loss through faith and family over the years, anticipating the day the man responsible for her son's death would be found.
