Leake Co. man sentenced for wife's death

Posted: Updated:
LEAKE COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A Leake County man will spend the rest of his life behind bars after admitting to killing his wife.

Mike Cochran, 45, was set to go on trial Monday, but last month, he pleaded guilty to fatally shooting Donna Cochran.

The 44-year-old was found dead in August at a family-owned tack shop in the free trade community south of Carthage.

She had been shot twice with a small caliber weapon.

The investigation by the Leake County Sheriff's Department determined the shooting resulted from an argument over money.
