Mission Mississippi luncheon

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

The Jackson Convention Center was the gathering place for the public, politicians and an opportunity for prayer.

There was a large turnout for Mission Mississippi's annual Mayors' Prayer Luncheon Thursday.

The aim of this group is to build relationships that cross racial and denominational lines in our state.

According to the President of Mission Mississippi, Neddie R Winters, "We take this opportunity to illustrate and demonstrate bringing the body together to pray for our leaders across the state of Mississippi. It's a wonderful opportunity to show that we can come to one place at one time and show unity together and pray for one another."

Mission Mississippi believes it is important to bring Christians from different racial backgrounds together to hear personal testimonies of how the organization touches lives.

This year's guest speaker was Mrs. Rose Jackson Flenoral, who is manager of Social Responsibility for the FedEx Corporation based in Memphis.

Flenoral is recognized for her support of racial reconciliation in the workplace and community and is a native of Clarksdale.
