Portion of Highway 3 Under Mandatory Evacuation

WARREN COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A portion of Highway 3 in Warren County was under a mandatory evacuation order Thursday night.

The Great Flood of 2011 led to the Board of Supervisors making this decision. @

It covers a two and a half mile stretch in the county from Redwood north to the Yazoo Valley Power substation. @

Warren County authorities warn that when the flood waters take over the roadway emergency vehicles such as ambulances and fire trucks will not be able to get to residents.

Deputies have already been pre-deployed and can get to areas via boat.
