A Dab Of Rain Adds More Flooding Pain

Posted: Updated:

A front that is on the move this morning has now prompted a different kind of flooding concern for counties already under fire from the rising waters of the Mississippi River.

A FLASH FLOOD watch has now been issued for all counties along the Mississippi river and a few toward the delta. The counties under this newly issued watch are: Claiborne, Issaquena, Shakily, Humphreys, Yazoo, Warren, Holmes, Bolivar & Coahoma.

In Louisiana we have the Parishes of Tensas, East Carroll, Madison and Concordia also placed under a flash flood watch.

70% chance of showers is expected along the Mississippi River; with an emphasis of afternoon storms forming. Those showers may stick around until the early evening hours, and then begin to break up quickly as the front passes through.

The weekend is looking drier and cooler. But we're still expecting the cresting of the Mississippi River at Greenville this coming Monday; Vicksburg on Thursday and NEXT Saturday at the Natchez location.

We'll continue to scroll the latest river levels at the bottom of the screen during the newscast, update you on twitter and Facebook and utilize the weather phone line to update you on latest rain forecast.
