The Hinds County Board of Supervisors plans to accept the city of Byram's request to cancel a prior request for police radios.
According to Board minutes for Monday, May 16, the board will take it up, then instruct Emergency Operations Center Director Jimmy Lewis to distribute or dispose of the E.F. Johnson radios, which have already been ordered and delivered to the vendor, Northstar Wireless.
Due to a breakdown in communication, the E.F. Johnsons were never delivered to Byram Police Chief Luke Thompson.
The City of Byram ordered their own Motorola radios back in April. They've already been delivered to the city.
