First responders said the male driver was unresponsive and trapped inside the pick up truck.
Rescue personnel used the Jaws of Life to extricate the driver.
A chainsaw was also used to cut a tree away from the driver's side so medics could gain access to the driver.
A medical helicopter landed at the scene within minutes after the accident and airlifted the driver to the University Medical Center with serious injuries. The full extent of his injuries are unknown at this time.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash.
