JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

WLBT has obtained a video that shows Jackson Police having to "take down" a person at Lake Hico in west Jackson.

The incident happened Sunday.

Video was emailed to us by a viewer.

It shows an unidentified young man disobeying an officer.

He was ordered to leave after fights and gunfire broke out.

A huge group of teenagers and adults surrounded the police.

When he refused to cooperate with police, another officer jumped him from behind.

Police officials say officers were forced to use force.

"He was taken into custody as is shown on the video," said Assistant Police Chief Lee Vance. "The officers took him to the ground and handcuffed him. Once he was taken to the ground and handcuffed no other force was used. At first glance it appears the officers were in compliance with your policies."

Vance says the video of another incident that occurred earlier Sunday at Lake Hico.

Several teens jumped and then beat an individual.

Police chased them down and made arrests.

The outbreaks at Lake Hico remain under investigation.

Charges may be filed against the teenager who resisted arrest during the volatile situation.
