JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Today's sunshine will push the temps to the normal high for this time of the year, keeping us dry as well which is good news for imminent flooding along the Mississippi River.

This morning the Greenville site is already cresting with the stage measured at 64.1'. Vicksburg is still expected to crest on Thursday at 57.5 feet.

The threat of shower will accompany the cresting date for the Mississippi at  the Natchez site. In Natchez the latest measurement is 61.7 feet and still climbing; expected to peak at 63.0 on the 21st.

The chances of rain go on the increase by Saturday as well, Friday's 20%  chance followed by Saturday's 30% likelihood of showers.

Temps will also climb to the upper 80s to near 90 degree; giving an almost summer like feel to the weekend.
