Thousands are expected to turn out this weekend to see the 2011 Trail Of Honor.
The event is a tribute to American Veterans.
Volunteers and participants were out in force Friday at the Harley Davidson business on Interstate 55 south. This is where an action packed weekend will play out. Visitors will have an opportunity learn about military history. And see the Vietnam traveling Memorial wall.
Harry Evans will take part in a re-enactment.
"The unit I'm with is Standford, MS Battery. Which I've been a member of that unit for 30 years. And we are portraying the 6th Ohio Battery B Herr at the trail this year. We've done it every year since they've had it. There's going to be so much for the people who come out here, scores of people. Yes there is going to be a whole bunch of stuff out here," Evans said.
For $50.00, visitors can catch a ride on a Huey Helicopter. There will be commemorative air force flyovers in warplanes from the past.
The Trail Of Honor begins Saturday at 9:00 a.m. and its free to the public.
