April 27th tornado claims another life

The April 27th tornado that nearly decimated a north Mississippi town has claimed another life.

A 79-year-old woman died from the injuries she sustained when the twister struck her Smithville home.

Maxine Chism's death brings the total number in Monroe County to 17 with 16 of those in Smithville.

Meanwhile, three weeks after that EF-5 tornado residents there can find new beginnings in a massive furniture store warehouse. It has been fully stocked with donations including food, water, clothing, furniture, and medicine.

People from nearby towns and as faraway as Oklahoma, Illinois, Texas, and Michigan donated the items.
