HINDS COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Three men are facing capital murder charges after Hinds County deputies solve a cold case murder.

Larry Hunter, 48, was shot to death in 2008.

Allegedly gunned down by his cousin and friends.

Lawmen say they were after his $6,000 tax refund.

Two are behind bars.

The U.S. Marshal's Fugitive Task Force arrested the victims' cousin Kenny Bingham, 28, in Harrison County.

Kelvin Washington, 28, was arrested in Winston County.

A warrant has been issued for David Fultz.

"The case itself developed out of a robbery and knowledge that he had money possibly from an income tax return," said Hinds County Sheriff Malcolm McMillin.

Family members tell WLBT News they are grateful for an arrest after 3 long years and now they want justice.

The murder victim's sister, Theresa Hunter, remains angry.

"They didn't have to do my brother like that," Hunter said. "And I want them to pay. I've been praying for this 3 years and I ain't stopped praying yet."

Sheriff McMillin said hard work and persistence paid off in this case.

Lawmen had few leads to go on, until lately.

"The first 48 hours there weren't any leads developed that lead to this particular suspects," Sheriff Malcolm McMillin said. "But over a period of time information was developed that lead to the arrests of these three individuals."

The family was informed of the charges and arrests Monday morning.

Hunter's niece, Anita Carroll, said the family is still grieving.

"Right now, I'm just so thankful closure can finally come after three years," Carroll said.

Hunter was robbed of some $6,000 in tax refund money.

No bond has been set.

Kelvin Washington is being held at the Hinds County Detention Center.

Bingham is expected to be returned from Harrison County this week.
