The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers says the problem with a slide on the Main Line Levee is now fixed.
Repairs were made near the Warren-Issaquena County line over the weekend and Monday.
The Corps says the levee is performing well.
Meanwhile, the Mississippi River at Vicksburg has fallen to 56 feet.
That is down more than a foot from last week's crest.
The Mississippi River is in a slow fall which the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers likes, because it is less likely to damage the crucial Main Line Levee System.
Robert Simrall, Chief of Water Control for the Corps in Vicksburg, says the problem with the levee this past weekend is now repaired and it is performing well.
'At this point, right now, we do not have any major issues that we are working with on the levee," Simrall said.
Simrall realizes farmers don't like a slow fall.
"Well, the farmer is out here just trying to make a living and get a soybean crop in, they would like to the see the water get on out of here real fast," Simrall said. "It's good for us on the levees, but the farmers would like to see the water get on out of here."
U.S. Highway 61 is still closed south of Vicksburg at the Big Black River.
It is also still shutdown on 61 North where it intersects with Highway 3.
Highway 61 is now out of the water but the approach and off ramp for Highway 3 are still submerged.
Only two people are still staying in a shelter with the Red Cross in Vicksburg.
Water still surrounds trailers, just south of the Vicksburg City Limits along Glass Road.
Some are still dry inside but others are wet because make shift levee systems built around them and a house have failed.
Lt. Randy Lewis of the Warren County Sheriff's Office knows the area.
"Everybody is wanting to get in and start cleaning up," Lt. Lewis said. "At this point we are still trying to get them to wait just a little bit longer."
When the Mississippi River was at crest last Thursday, the water was completely over Glass Road, just south of the Vicksburg City Limits.
The water was 57.1 feet then, it is now down to 56 feet.
