HOOVER, Ala. (AP) - Arkansas took advantage of 2 wild pitches and two fielding errors by Mississippi State in a 7-2 win Thursday that eliminated the Bulldogs from the Southeastern Conference baseball tournament.
The Razorbacks will advance to Friday's third round game against the loser of Thursday afternoon's Alabama-Florida game.
James McCann went 4 for 5 with two RBI, part of a 14-hit game for the Razorbacks (37-19). The top five batters in the Arkansas lineup combined to go 12 for 22.
Arkansas starter D.J. Baxendale (9-2) held the Bulldogs (34-23) to six hits and two runs over five innings.
MSU starter Nick Routt (2-3) struck out the side in the first inning but gave up three singles and threw two wild pitches.
The Bulldogs' Jarrod Parks went 2 for 4.
