Houston beats Southern Miss 7-6 in 14 innings

PEARL, Miss. (AP) - Ryan Still's run-scoring bunt single in the 14th inning led Houston to a 7-6 victory over Southern Miss in a game that started on Thursday night and ended just before 2 a.m. Friday.

John Cannon reached on an infield error to start the bottom of the 14th, advancing to second on the errant throw. London Appling's single moved Cannon to third, which set up Still's bunt single that ended the longest game in Conference USA tournament history.

Codey Morehouse threw 6.1 innings of scoreless relief for the Cougars, who have clinched a spot in Saturday's championship game against either Rice or Central Florida.
