A Jackson area family is having a memorable Memorial Day weekend by celebrating with five living generations.
A 100th birthday party was held Saturday for Mary Louise Powell Griffith at the River Room Conference Center in Flowood.
She turned 100-years-old on May 9th. Many living members of her family, all the way down to her great-great-grandchildren attended.
Mrs. Powell Griffith was a nurse in her younger years.
She was happy to talk to us about the special occasion.
"Our whole family is here. We're from Gulfport," Mrs. Powell Griffith said. "I've had a wonderful, happy good life," she added.
"She has enjoyed the ability to be with her family and friends, as you can see. We are celebrating her life," said her daughter, Mary Diane Devine.
The party included fellowship, Prayer and a release of 100 balloons.
