Vicksburg Police investigate homicide

Vicksburg police were investigating a homicide Tuesday.

Investigators say 19 year old James Ransom was charged with the murder of 20 year old Robert Banks.

Around three that afternoon an altercation occurred in the 17-hundred block of Marcus Street in Vicksburg.

Authorities say Ransom shot and killed ZBanks then threw his weapon into a wooded area.

Ransom was taken into custody shortly after the murder.

No one else was injured.

Police are still searching for the murder weapon.
