Police: Drug Deal Murder Suspect Arrested 1-12-2010

Police have arrested a man they say was behind a murder in December.
David Orlando Avinger was taken into custody at about 1 a.m. Tuesday. Avinger has been on the run since Dec. 13, the night Vincent Perkins was shot to death.
Police said Perkins was killed at the intersection of Howard Avenue and Oxford Avenue in Inglewood. According to a police report, he was sitting in the passenger seat of vehicle during an apparent botched drug deal.
Avinger now faces murder charges in Perkins' death.
