Today's heat will be simply unbearable if you don't take the right precautions for handling the heat of the day. Highs are expected to climb to100 degrees for today and stay elevated for the next few days in a row.
No real chance of rain is expected until the weekend. And the chances of showers over the weekend only reaching up to 20-30% chance at best. Temps will still be in the upper 90s.
The Mississippi and Yazoo Rivers are still slowly falling. the Mississippi River in Greenville was measured at 55.35 feet this morning. In Vicksburg the recent level was measured at 51.78 feet. At the Natchez site, the levels continue to drop this morning down to 58.29.
The Yazoo River levels are continuing to fall. The morning update shows the measurement as low as 34.66 feet this morning at 5:00am.
