David Bozeman of Kokomo, MS take us on tour of Chotard. His 2700 sq foot new home took on nearly 3 feet of water.
WARREN COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -
Residents of Lake Chotard are inspecting flood damage this week. The waters surpassed any previous flood in the area. Only one house remains without water inside at Laneys fish camp.
David Bozeman of Kokomo took WLBT for a tour of his newly built lakefront home.
He and his wife are now ripping out sheet rock and insulation in the walls where the water rose up to 2 and a half feet. His home was already elevated up 14 feet.
Cabinets and electrical outlets will all have to be replaced, along with flooring that's starting to warp. Black mold is also starting to grow on the walls.
The Bozemans just completed their home last summer, and will spent the next few months making repairs, with little time enjoying the lake.
