Greg Funderburg - MSNewsNow.com - Jackson, MS

Greg Funderburg is a reporter for FOX Carolina and usually appears on FOX Carolina News Tonight on Monday through Friday.

Greg grew up in Sylacauga, Ala., and went to school at the University of Montevallo, where he graduated with a degree in mass communications and a minor in general business.

Greg began his career in the Peach State where he worked as a reporter and fill-in anchor at WTVM-TV in Columbus.

Prior to working in Georgia, Greg was an intern at WVTM-TV and WBRC-TV, both in Birmingham. He got his first taste of the television news business as a morning anchor and reporter at Abrams Broadcasting Company in Sylacauga, Ala., while in college.

Greg decided on a career in broadcasting during his sophomore year in high school. After hearing a news anchor in Birmingham speak about her job as a journalist, Greg fell in love with the business.

In December 2009, Greg moved to the Upstate of South Carolina and joined FOX Carolina as a reporter.

Most Memorable Story: Was about a young woman who had a 16-year-old son and 10-year-old daughter and they were evicted from their home. They slept outside for nearly 11 days before being taken into a homeless shelter. After being there nearly four months she got her nursing assistant certification and got a job. A few weeks later she closed on a brand new habitat home. This story showed me anything is possible as long as you believe and work hard.
