Warren County residents begin flood clean up

Posted: Updated:

The Warren County Permit Department is guiding residents through the flood cleanup process. Employees spent the day placing flyers on doors urging them to properly dispose of flooded materials; appliances, furniture, flooring and walls.

The city says out of over 200 homes, only 18 are accessible at this point.

Some residents south of Vicksburg are busy removing flooring and sheet rock that was flooded. They will have to purchase permits to rebuild, at only $5.00 each if their repairs exceed $500.00.

The county is finalizing plans to locate dumpsters at convenient locations for any disposable, flooded materials.

The Salvation Army is asking for cleaning supplies and perishable foods, which are running low at their Disaster Center.

For those people who live in the Vicksburg area the donations may be dropped off directly at the warehouse located at 2011 Washington Street.

Monetary donations can be given texting the word "GIVE" to 769-230-3270 as well as giving money at all Trustmark bank locations in the metro area.

Donations are also being accepted at Trustmark Park in Pearl.
